In case you were wondering, unless otherwise noted, all photos used on this blog belong to me.
I've been taking pics long before the advent of digital photography and will continue to do so until I can no-longer press a button on a camera.
Do you have permission to use them? NO!
That said, I don't know enough about safety precautions to keep unscrupulous people from stealing them at this time. But I will learn. Trust, me, I will learn.
So why am I using them? Because I don't want to steal other peoples work to use on my blog. Photography is an art form and I respect those who make a living from it.
If I take a photo of someone's and put it on my blog without their knowledge, I am stealing their work. The same goes for anyone who takes my photos and uses them without my permission.
Unfortunately it happens all the time. With the advancement of digital photography, anybody can take pictures. So, unless you want to run the risk of getting caught, either take your own photos (it's really easy, trust me) or pay the artist for use of their work.
There are various places that artist sell the rights to their visual art: flickr, fotolia, shutterstock. To name a few. Depending on the photo, they don't really cost much. You may even find some that are free to use. Choose wisely.
In this way, you gain the trust of the artist and the artistic community. Not only that, but you also support those who make a living solely on photography. Who knows, if you gain their trust, maybe they'll in turn, give back to you in some way.
:)
